Here a Chick, There a Chick

While being pulled deeper into the black hole of time-sucks spending some time on Pinterest, I found these adorable Chicks at Myrtle & Eunice. I just knew I had to whip up some for myself. LittleGirl thought they were cute as well; and because it's an easy beginner pattern, she stitched a couple of chicks, too.

I've made these from some wool felt LittleGirl won in her Carolina Shop Hop basket last summer. The 5x5 squares are more than enough to complete one chick. Our Spring Break has been filled with dentist and doctor appointments; so to keep my hands busy in the idle wait moments, I've been taking the chick parts to stitch together.

They're lots of fun to sew. Wonder how many I'll finish before Easter this Sunday?

LG claimed this one for herself.
She likes the blue eyes.

In addition to visits to dentists and doctors, we also stopped in at the DMV. We have another driver in the house! Congratulations to Son#2 for passing his Beginner's Permit test! Mom looks forward to gripping the dash while we drive to school the rest of the school year. ;)

How have you filled your week?

Happy Thursday!

  2. Wow! Congrats Son # 2. We lived through 3 of the 4 girls getting their licenses and driving. Be careful of grip marks in dashboards however, they can devalue the resale of a car on trade in. :)

    1. Thanks, Gregg!
Perhaps I need to sew a dash cover to help with all that gripping and resale value. ;)

  5. The season of Spring brings new life. Deciduous trees have their leaves grow again and the dormant grass turns green. Animals have their babies too. Christ rose from the dead, so that we may have life eternal. And Learner's Permits are issued for new drivers also. Beautiful time of year!
