Patchwork in the Kitchen

It's not sewing, but I have been working on a bit of patchwork in the kitchen. This has been a month-long project...because I worked on it in between life moments. Yesterday, I finished the grout. I'll seal it this weekend...if our schedule cooperates. ;) Here's a sneak peak...

Once completed, I'll paint the cabinets a bright white. The walls will receive a new coat of color, too. DH simply shakes his head. It wasn't all that long ago the kitchen was painted. I enjoyed the gray; however, I love this mosaic tile...and the gray doesn't work well with it. We're going back to traditional, neutral tones. It's incredibly invigorating to work on home projects...although I'm a little down in the back this morning. That NEVER happened when I was in my 20s and renovating our first home. Sigh.

Have you done any painting or room renovations lately?

Happy Thursday!

  1. I love it- the tile and grouting look fabulous.

While home renovation is hard work there's nothing like being able to step back and say "I did that myself " .

  2. Our home renovation has been put on hold and I can so relate to the back thing. My head is way younger than my body and it often forgets this. It may be time to hire outside help. :-(

    1. Oh, dear, Petra. I completely understand. Gone are the days of knocking out in a project in a weekend. I've learned to plan for at least a month of weekends. Hope yours are completed soon!
