My children are 15, 13, and 10. They have reached an age where we cannot shelter them from tragedy. When tragedy strikes, sometimes I have no words. I can only comfort them with a hug and let them see my overwhelmed tears. Sometimes, all I can do is pray with them.
Yesterday, today, and for many tomorrows, we will lift in prayer those who are grieving from the bombings at the Boston Marathon.
Sometimes...all we can do is pray.
Sometimes...all we can be is the light.
Heavenly Father ~
You, our most merciful God, we cannot fathom Your wisdom or plan as tragedy strikes us yet again. As we recover from the shock, guide us to deal graciously with our nation and the people of Boston in their grief. Surround us in Your love, that we may not be overwhelmed, but have confidence in Your goodness, and strength to meet the days to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
