...and I think I heard the angels singing.
It's been a while since I actually found time to sit and stitch, but I was determined to create one of these adorable Mini Zigs ala The Way I Sew It did. She wrote a fabulous tutorial, so stop by and try it out for yourself.
- I LOVE these fabrics! They were from my stash and inspired by Kate's Geisha Quilt. The red is my favorite of all the prints/colors.
- I learned a new design concept...and my brain survived!
- My points aren't all that pointy. I could've sworn I was accurate with my cutting & sewing.
- My sizing is different than P's. I kinda did that on purpose.
I saw this cool way to sew triangles and wanted to try it. What I didn't think about before I began, was that my triangles would be smaller than those in the Mini Zig tutorial. It's about 8" long x 9" wide. Perfect Mug Rug size!
All in all, I'm happy with the top. And, hey...I'm still cutting my quilting teeth. That's what Mini Quilts are for. :)
PS...Thanks for the inspiration and tutorial, P!
Are you sewing this weekend?
