Brown Paper Packages

No this one wasn't tied up with strings,
but ooh-whee was I excited to see it!

Tucked inside this 'Royal Mail' (don't you just love that it says 'Royal Mail' ??? Kinda makes me giddy!), was a hot-off-the-presses book. It's written by my sweet bloggy friend, Carole Anne Carr, who bestowed upon me a copy of her latest children's novel, Thin Time.

We had such a busy night! While the boys filled some low spots in our yard, compacting soil with their shovels and some stomping; I trimmed some shrubs and limbs from our ornamental cherry tree. Then it was time to clean up and rush to LittleGirl's Open House / PTA Meeting. As soon as we walked in the door, the boys began asking when we were going to read the new book. ☺ After showers and tucking LittleGirl into bed, the boys and I snuggled up on the couch and began Chapter One.

We read the first chapter last evening, and it was so hard to stop right there! We're anxiously awaiting the day to finish so we'll be able to start Chapter Two. We want to know what has caused Alice to go into hiding. Son#2 said, "That Alice must've done something REALLY bad to avoid going home."

We cannot wait to dig into this book! I suspect the boys will be completing schoolwork without much cajoling from me today. ☺ If you get a chance, stop by Carole Anne's site. You can even shop for her books while there. Here's the links:

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU-THANK YOU-THANK YOU, Carole Anne! We are thrilled with our gifted book. We look forward to reading it and many more of your stories.

Who is your favorite Children's Author?
