Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to the Best Mom Ever! ☺

Today is Mom's aka Grandma's Birthday. Doesn't she look fabulous? She's the prettiest Mom I know. ☺ Her heart is just as pretty as her beautiful smile. She's always willing to help out if you need her. She can whip up the most fabulous meals with only a moment's notice. If you're fortunate to live near her, your holidays will be filled with delectable confections, cakes, and cookies.

She loves to have fun, and has no qualms at being silly. There's nothing better than sharing a great big belly laugh with her. Once she starts laughing, it's hard for her to stop. I'm giggling even now, as I think of her big laugh, and the look of utter joy on her face during her fit of laughter makes me smile.

She's my first sewing inspiration. I have many childhood memories of her sewing at the kitchen table late in the evening. The machine would be humming as she stitched beautiful dotted-Swiss dresses for all her girls to wear on Easter Sunday. Standing on the coffee table having a dress hemmed was not unusual. I would often come home from school in the afternoon and find her with a sewing friend, machines whirring, coffee brewing, and homemade goodies waiting to be noshed on a pretty glass dish as they giggled and stitched their creations.

While she doesn't sew as much as she once did, Mom remains one of the most creative people I know. She enjoys entertaining, and is known for creating a beautiful tablescape and party favors. When she's not entertaining, she's hard at work at home. Most days find her deep in study. She loves to dig deep into the Word, delving into the original wording and making sense of the translations. If I have a Bible question, she's my go-to person!

With such an incredible Mom, it's sometimes intimidating to follow in her footsteps. Thankfully, she's just around the corner from me, and if I have a question or problem, I can quickly stop by or call her for advice. She's full of wonderful suggestions to make life easier. I'm blessed to have her in my life. I'm thankful to be her daughter. I'm honored to call her 'Mom.'

Happy Birthday, Mom!
Hope your day is fabulous!
