A to Z Challenge { D }

We interrupt the regularly scheduled blog posts  for April's A to Z Challenge!
I'm testing my writing skills with fiction.
These may consist of an opening paragraph, or might even end up as an entire short-story.
I have no idea where my fingers and keyboard will take me
as I'm inspired with each day's corresponding letter.
Take the journey with me!
I look forward to your feedback.
Today's letter:  D

My fingers are tired. They would not type more than an introductory line for 'D'. Perhaps 'E' will provide more of a spark. Life was busy yesterday and I was unable to hop. If you came by for a visit, thanks so much. I'll be stopping by to see what you wrote for yesterday and today. Happy Tuesday!

The day began as they always did with Momma searching for Daniel. She could hear his dulcifluous dialogue doting on the ants trapped in their dulotic world. Daniel, discalced and dungaree-clad, wanted nothing more than to disimmure those dear ants. Never one to be dispiteous, Daniel demerged right into his design.

What did Daniel do next?

Special thanks to Noah Webster and his Unabridged Dictionary for the 'D' words

dulcifluous...flowing sweetly
dulotic...slavery practiced by animals, especially ants
discalced...barefoot
dungaree...pants/jeans
disimmure...liberate
dispiteous...malicious
demerged...to immerse or plunge
