Thursday Concatenation

It is Thursday, right? My days seem to be running together, as I've yet to leave the house since Sunday. We're feeling a bit snowbound. :o) Roads were still icy yesterday, and public schools were cancelled again. Since tomorrow and Monday were already scheduled as a Teacher Workday and MLK Holiday, respectively, Littlegirl won't return to school until Tuesday. Momma's not ecstatic with the School Board's decision, though she's marked another tally in the "Good Reasons to Homeschool all 3 Kiddos" column.

The boys have continued to work hard this week. We're more than halfway through Swiss Family Robinson, and thoroughly enjoying it. To be honest, I'm pleasantly surprised with the text. It's purely a fictional island. We've had fun discussing the animals this family encounters. It's quite the Utopian island, filled with penguins, flamingos, sharks, iguanas, monkeys, kangaroos, and porcupines to name a few. Have you read this book with your children?

Thursday Concatenation

I love to read blogs and look at so many different websites!
This Concatenation is my Quilt Lovers Edition.
There are wonderful blogs that I have found.
Even though we don't write about the same subjects,
or necessarily share all the same interests, we're connected by our blogs.
I have many interests, and therefore, read blogs on all sorts of topics.
That's CONCATENATION...a series of interconnected or interdependent things or events.
In an effort to share and connect the blogs/sites I enjoy reading, I'm featuring three of them each Thursday.

p.s. i quilt
I'm ready to jump feet first into quilting all because of Rachel Griffith's blog. :o) She is hosting a Postage Stamp Quilt-Along. Remember the question last week regarding the Jelly Rolls? They are for my first quilt! I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my jelly rolls. I left a comment on Rachel's site, and she promplty replied that this Postage Stamp Quilt would make a fabulous beginner quilt. There's still time to quilt along. Go grab your jelly rolls and let's quilt together. p.s. i quilt offers you every day inspiration for quilting and fabric love. You'll spend hours several minutes pouring over the pretty pages. Oh, and did I mention that Rachel designs Recipes for Moda's Bake Shop?

This is a new blog to me, and I'm so happy to have found it! Aneela produces some gorgeous quilts. If you click on the tag 'quilts,' you'll see all her posts from her beautiful creations. She takes very detailed photographs, and frequently has step-by-step photos as well. Her quilting is impeccable. You'll be as impressed as I am with all her quilts and tutorials. Aneela's site is full of fresh ideas and scrumptious quilts.

You've probably seen this site on my blogroll. Oh my goodness! There is such fabulousness on Ivory Spring's site. Look no further for inspiration! I aspire to produce a quilt such as the ones I've seen here. I know. I know. It will probably be years before that happens. LOL! Hop over and take a look. Be sure to check out the Thread Talk section. You'll find tutorials for machine quilting and more. Oh my...that Feather Stitching is gorgeous!

Happy Thursday!
