Sewing Setback

Seams Inspired...2011
Okay...I'm a little blue. I guess that's what I get for trying to ignore my family for the weekend and do nothing but sew. Everything I touched in my sewing room turned into one 'sew fail' after another. First it was the Mug Rugs. Oh, they started out great. Then I put the binding on backwards...twice. After the second rip-out, I set that aside.

After spending some time organizing my beautiful jelly roll strips, I set out to sew them together. I carefully measured and taped off a line for perfect quarter-inch seams. I stitched and stitched...so far, so good. Time to iron, and then it happened. My seams began disintegrating. What? I put the wrong bobbin into my machine. Instead of using cotton, I had polyester thread in the bobbin. It literally melted as I pressed my perfect seams. Ack! (I actually used a few other choice words.)

I've got to sew the whole darn thing again. Needless to say, I'm not 'sew' happy about my weekend. Really...I should just stick to fashion sewing. It's what I know. It's what I love. I'm off to whip up a dress or something...anything that I can add to my Sewing Success list will do right about now.

What did you do this weekend?
