Favourite Things Friday

Friday rolled around fast for me. Did Friday arrive too fast for you? We're busy at our house. We're preparing for our Thanksgiving guests. Everything's getting a good scrub down and polish! Our motto this week is, "If you've got time to lean, you've got time to clean!"

We'll play host to 9 guests, so we'll have fourteen at our table this year.  Here's the menu...

Roasted Turkey
Dressing (not Stuffing)
Sweet Potato Casserole (the best recipe ever!)
Mashed Potatoes & Gravy
Creamed Corn Casserole
Broccoli Casserole
Bing Cherry Salad
Dinner Rolls (how could we not have bread!)
Pumpkin Pie
Pecan Pie
Chocolate Pie
...all with a dollop of whipped cream - not Cool Whip!

Mmm...my mouth's already watering! Now before you start thinking I'm Wonder-Woman, I have to clarify. Mom is bringing the Turkey, Dressing, & Sweet Potato Casserole. Lil-Sis & GrannyP are both bringing some items too. I'm too 'young' to attempt an entire Thanksgiving dinner all on my own! LOL

Do you celebrate Thanksgiving? What's on your menu? Are you the host or a guest? What's your favorite Thanksgiving dish?

Favourite Things Friday
Last week, I was so crazy with my big Yard Sale, I didn't have time to hop around and look at everyone's FTF's. Sorry about that, girls. I'll be more diligent in my blog hopping this week. And thank you for stopping by my blog and commenting. Tsk-tsk on me and my negligent blog-hopping etiquette.  I sincerely apologize.

Two years ago today, who'd have thought the arrival of a sweet little guy would flip my world upside down? Though I would not meet him for a few weeks, he was destined to be part of my life. He was a big surprise for our family. The kids gladly accepted him as one of us. Everyone was eager to chip in and help take care of him.

He has a quirky little face that endears him to our hearts. He loves to be loved on, and snuggle up with you. He is very talkative too. How could he not be? He lives with a bunch of chatterboxes! LOL He's always quick to greet me whenever I see him.

And as much as I'd like to admit that I'm not 'one of those people,' I do think of him as one of my 'kids' sometimes. I've been known to tell him in a cutesy voice, "Momma loves that little guy!"

He makes me laugh. He makes me smile. Sometimes, he makes me yell. But all in all, he has brought this family much joy. Yes, today Dexter turns two...and that's why he is one of my Favourite Things.

Happy Friday!
