Thrifty Tuesday Christmas Finds

I'm a little under the weather today,
as I was up most of the night nursing a sinus infection;
however, I so love iFellowship and want to participate.
My brain cells just won't create a new thought for a post today. Sorry for the repeat post if you stopped by yesterday.
If you haven't been by in a few days, I've made some changes.
Be sure to check out my Thrifty Christmas Challenge!
Happy Wednesday! :o)

Dearest Family,

While I know you cling to every word I write on my blog, please avert your eyes today. Lest you wish to spoil your Christmas surprises, stop reading now. Happy Tuesday! Return tomorrow for more Seams Inspired. I promise not to write anything snarky while you are away. Love-n-Hugs....Me

Just in case my family didn't get the hint, I thought I'd throw in a fashion tip for them. ;o) Before you go spending your hard-earned dollars for a new seasonal wardrobe, shop your closet first, then, if you're lucky, shop your sister's closets.

Once you've determined what will work, make a list of what you still need/want. Keep it handy while you're thrifting, since you'll never know what you may happen upon. One key piece I've needed was a blazer/jacket. What a thrill to find exactly that! Here's Thrifty Fall Fashion #1...I had all this lurking in my closet minus the blazer, which I found for $2.00!

I love belts, and felt because this jacket was fairly unstructured, that I really needed to accent some curves. At first I tried it on my waist; however, this belt is too thin to accent properly. Since I loved the pop of gold it was bringing to my outfit, I moved it up to just under my bustline, creating an empired-waist look. This allows me to still accent some curves while bringing the gold bling. What do you think? Will you give it a try too?

Do you like my Thrifty Fall Fashion? I'm thinking it might be a weekly feature. Please let me know if you like it or not.

Thrifty Christmas Finds
I found some great sales this weekend! J-fer really likes jewelry, so I was on the lookout for a big chunky necklace. While I didn't find exactly what I wanted, I did find these:

The beads were similar and blended nicely together. I brought them home, and using a pair of needlenose pliers (found in DH's tool drawer), I took the shorter necklace apart. I attached it to the larger necklace...

Now I have a double-strand necklace. I like it the way it is, but think it would look better with a few more strands. I'll be looking for more this weekend. Oh, here's how it looks together...

I also found a fun toy for one of my nephews. I think he will love it. My boys have one similar to this, and they have spent hours trying to place the golf ball on the tee.

And a pedicure set for a niece. I think I'll add a twisty turban with her name embroidered on it to fill out this gift set. I love the bright and fun colors of this set, and think the paint can packaging is adorable.
