The Rewards of Wisdom

I've been mulling this verse around for a while now, trying to wrap my head around it. It's from the book of Proverbs, chapter three. The subtitle is The Rewards of Wisdom. I love the book of Proverbs and the wisdom that can be gained from its verses. I know other verses from chapter 3 very well:  Trust in the Lord with all of your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. Look to him in all your ways, He will keep your paths straight.

What I failed to realize before now, was the verse ahead of it:  Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart. Wow. That's a powerful statement. I suppose what really hits home about this verse, is that I've been reading several posts this week about why people blog.
Ron at The Old Geezer Blog, has given five reasons why people blog:  Socialization, Income, Creative Outlet, Promotion of Business, and Supporting of Causes. He asked which category his fellow bloggers fit.  From the many responses, most people do fit into those categories. For me, I fall into the Creative Outlet class.

Allied Moms has posed some great questions regarding social media, and bloggers and cliques that can be formed from blogging communities. The question about blogging and cliques had some interesting commentary. Are there cliques in the blogging community? I'm still not sure. I have felt excluded at times in the blogging community, though I'm unsure it's a clique-thing, or my own esteem issues. Others wholeheartedly believe there are definite cliques in Bloggerville. If so, what's with the Elitist Attitude, bloggers? What is gained by exclusion?

Where am I going with this? :o) Proverbs 3:3 outlines the parameters of how I choose to blog. Kindness and truth will not leave me. I will bind them around my neck. I will write them on the tablet of my heart. I promise you this, my readers and fellow bloggers:  I will not leave snarky comments in regards to your posts, whether or not I agree with what you write. I will treat you with the kindness and the respect you deserve. As I continue putting myself out there for the world to see (and perhaps, judge), I will remember why I choose to blog. To lift up others through words, as I focus on my God, my Creator, my Messiah, my Saviour.

May you see Him shining through my blog.

I look forward to your comments. :o)

This is one of my older posts, but I thought it might be an appropriate one to begin with
as a new blogger to Spiritual Sundays. I hope you'll take a glance through my blog
and find some inspiration. Thanks for stopping by! :o)
