Giveaway Day Has Arrived!

I can't believe it's finally here...Giveaway Day! I'm super excited to blog about this. A little over a week ago, I sent the kids to Yiayia's for a swim. They came back loaded down with a few boxes from Yiayia's attic. I opened them up, and Woo-hoo! The boxes were full of Retro/Vintage sewing patterns. :o)

A little background information on Yiayia...she is a seamstress who learned sewing and all things crafty from her mom, Sashie. Yiayia and Papou owned a country club and golf course back in the 60's and 70's. Since they hosted many formal and swanky events, Yiayia needed formal and swanky dresses. She stitched up all her gorgeous clothes, and loved to purchase new patterns. She had (still does have) the best taste, and leaned towards Vogue designers...American and Parisian designers, for inspiration.

Not only did Yiayia give me her patterns, she gifted me with boxes of sewing notions. They're still in their original packages! Well, my blog friends, I've decided to share the love; and that's where this giveaway originates.

I couldn't narrow it down to just one pattern, so I chose four of the best. Though the envelopes have suffered a bit, each pattern is in pristine condition and un-cut. Then I decided there is no way I could possibly use all these notions in a lifetime. I collected a few to send to you! :o) Here's what you could win...click on the photos to have a closer look.

Giveaway #1

This is a gorgeous Diane Von Furstenberg pattern. Her dresses are timeless, aren't they?

Giveaway #2

Givenchy (pronounced zhee-VAH(N)-shee not Guh-vin-chee *smirk*) created the little Black Dress for Audrey Hepburn. Every girl bow her head and give gratitude. :o)

Giveaway #3

Another gorgeous Diane Von Fursternberg dress! Does the bateau neckline ever go out of style? I think not!

Giveaway #4

While not attributed to any particular designer, this is classic Vogue! I love the description...Loose-fitting, slightly flared, pullover, below-hip length tunic or three inches below mid-knee or floor length dress has single gathered shoulder and pockets in side seams. Whew! What a mouthful for one sentence, but what a knockout dress!
