Dressing Up Sandals

What do you do when you're limited to a late night, with stores closed, you're trying to pack for a trip, and realize your old sandals just don't cut it? You dress them up with sewing supplies!

You will need sandals, buttons, and a hot glue gun for this project.

Grab your dirty, old sandals and give them a good scrub. Tip:  If the edges are a bit worn, take matching shoe polish or a Sharpie Pen and cover up those worn spots.

Lift up a prayer of thanksgiving that you've saved every button from every project you've ever crafted.

Quietly (because it's late and your family is sleeping) pour out those buttons. Take a quick moment to reminisce of projects past, especially the buttons that remind you of all the baby clothes you made. Pull out the hot glue gun that's been heating up while you linger over your choices of button. Once you've finalized your selection, strategically mount those buttons onto your sandals. Hold them in place for a moment while the hot glue hardens.

Enjoy your 'new' sandals, and smile when you hear, "Cute Shoes!"

I didn't have time to sew while I traveled. I'm linking this to Amylouwho's Sew & Tell since I used sewing supplies to complete this project. Next week, I promise to actually sew! Happy Friday!

  12. So clever! They look great. I would get so lost looking through all my buttons, that they would probably never make it to the sandals!
