Spring Tote

Isn't this the most darling tote bag? My sweet friend, Tina, recently had a birthday. After coffee and a chat, we stopped by HobbyLobby and she selected fabrics. Aren't her choices fabulous? I love this tote so much, I really didn't want to give it to her! LOL

The fabrics are 100% cotton, so I made sure to pre-wash the fabric. I sandwiched Fusible Fleece (which I picked up as remnant a while back) between the exterior and interior fabrics. I had never used it as an interlining before, but I will definitely use it again! I especially like the stability it gave the tote. I could see using this to make quilted bags too.

Special thanks to JCaroline Creative for her fabulous Tote Tutorial. It was easy-peasy to follow. Now...I must go pick out some fabrics for myself! Happy Thursday!

  1. I love this tote, also! The fabrics are gorgeous. I've also been wanting to try the fusible fleece but just haven't been able to do much sewing in a while...I'm wondering...is it thick like real fleece? That would be wonderful.

  2. Fusible fleece is thick. I guess a good way to describe it would be lofty. It made the tote sturdy, but still pliable. Hope that makes sense! :o) Give it a try!
