Still Raining

Tropical storm Ida is still hovering over us. We're under flash flood watches, and expected to get about 5 inches of rain. It's a great day to stay in and sew!

I worked on gift bags yesterday. I need to add some type of closure. I've yet to decide if that will be a button, velcro, or maybe just a little ribbon handle. I've made them from scraps of cream-colored silk, and embellished with some Christmas red decorative stitching. So far, so good. I'm happy with how they are turning out. I'll post pictures of the completed gift bag. My goal is to sew bags for all our family Christmas gifts this year. The reason is two-fold:  1. I don't want to buy gift wrap and have to find boxes for every gift. 2. I'm using up fabric in my stash. What are you using for wrap this year?

While figuring out my gift bags, I watched my Praisechoir worshiping at church a couple of Sundays ago. Something amazing is happening in our choir. Worship has become more meaningful. It's not contrived or methodical. It's coming from the hearts...and it's powerful. If you'd like to see our worship session (and hear a fabulous sermon about men!), check out this link:  The Secret to a Man's Heart - @ Brookwood Church
